A COLLECTION of more than 150 photographs and cards featuring reminders of Barry will go on display at a Cadoxton park.

Barry Revisited by Tom Clemett – A Pictoral History, will debut at The Room in the Park, Victoria Park, Barry.

Local historian Tom Clemett returns to Victoria Park with his latest collection of historic photographs and reminders of Barry.

Mr Clemett has regularly been putting on exhibitions in Victoria Park, and other venues around the town, for seven years.

The exhibition concentrates on the docks, the west end of town, and Barry Island.

Park manager, Jon Greatrex said: “There is always something new at Tom’s exhibitions; he has a huge selection of photographs and postcards of the town from the late 1800s up to modern times. It’s a delight to look at the old town and see how much it has changed – it always amazes me how much there was going on right from the earliest photographs. Just have a look at the very early pictures of Barry Island- even before the prom was a glint in anyone’s eye the place was packed.”

Mr Clemett said: “It’s a history in photographs. I hope to bring back some good memories, obviously not from the 1800sthough and I hope people will enjoy them.”

The exhibition runs until the end of April and admission is free.

Opening times are 10am to 4pm, daily but closed Saturdays except for event days.
