IN RECENT years the month of March has become synonymous with The Stranglers live and 2016 will be no different when the punk-era iconoclasts once again take to the road, this time with the Black and White Tour.

For the first time ever The Stranglers will play live, in its entirety, their starkly thrilling and ground-breaking album, Black and White, almost 40 years after its 1978 release.

The Stranglers will be coming to Cardiff University Great Hall on Friday, March 18.

Thrusting a lance into the future, Black and White was, and continues to be, one of the most influential albums of the late 1970s, reaching number two in the UK album chart, marking the dawn of a new era and inspiring a whole new roster of post-punk bands.

Rock music has rarely sounded so urgent and perfect. The track list includes such gems as Tank, Toiler on the Sea, Nice n Sleazy and their superlative cover version of the Bacharach and David classic Walk On By, which in 2014 was voted number three in the BBC Music Top 50 greatest cover versions.

Undoubtedly one of the most exciting, credible and influential British bands, The Stranglers continue to enthral fans, old and new, with their record-breaking, sell-out shows and festival appearances throughout the UK and the rest of the world.

Public demand to hear and see the group has never been so high, true testament to their considerable musical talent and the enduring quality of their songs.

In addition to the complete live performance of White and Black, the Stranglers will play a further selection of favourites, old and new, from their extensive and memorable catalogue.
