MEMO Arts Centre, Barry, will show a National Theatre Live performance directly from London on Thursday, January 28.

NT Live presents Les Liaisons Dangereuses (12A) which will be screened at 7pm.

To mark the 30th anniversary of Christopher Hampton’s play of the scandalous Choderlos de Laclos’ novel comes Josie Rourke’s highly anticipated new production, live from London’s famed Donmar Warehouse.

In 1782, de Laclos’ novel of sex, intrigue and betrayal in pre-revolutionary France scandalised the world. Former lovers, the Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont now compete in games of seduction and revenge.

Merteuil incites Valmont to corrupt the innocent Cecile de Volanges before her wedding night but Valmont has targeted the peerlessly virtuous and beautiful Madame de Tourvel.

While these merciless aristocrats toy with others’ hearts and reputations, their own may prove more fragile than they supposed.

The performance will last 210 minutes.

Tickets to the performance cost £15 each and are available from the Memo Arts Centre box office on 01446 738622 or visit the website memoartscentre.co.uk
