MERMAID Quay is holding their festive celebrations starting on Saturday, November 1 with the Christmas Lights Switch On.

Festivities at Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay, begin at 1pm, with music from Tenovus Cancer Care choirs and performers, street theatre from Christmas Pudding and Christmas Ted plus lots more.

Santa’s elves will also be around, so keep your eyes peeled, they have some special treats to give away to good boys and girls.

The Christmas lights at Mermaid Quay will be switched on by a special guest at 5pm.

Then on Saturday, December 5, Santa’s Post Office opens for the second year.

Elves will help you write your letter to Santa before posting it in the enchanted post box where it will travel to Lapland. You’ll be able to see its journey on the magic map and every letter will receive a response from Santa.

Santa’s Post Office will be open to the public from noon to 4pm every Saturday and Sunday from Saturday, December 5 to Sunday, December 20, plus Monday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 22. It’s completely free.

There will be plenty of festive fun on offer throughout December, check out mermaidquay.co.uk to keep up-to-date.
