THE Get Creative Family Arts Festival 2015 is fun month of activities for everyone to get involved with across Wales.

Starting on October 9 until November 1, the festival showcases the quality, depth and diversity of talent in the UK arts scene through shows and events designed specifically with family enjoyment in mind.

Some of the highlights on the month included a performance of Les Miserables at Wales Millennium Centre.

Following a nationwide search to all corners of Wales, a choir of over a 120 of the most talented young performers, all of whom are aged 13-19, perform one of the world’s most famous musicals in Welsh.

National Dance Company of Wales will put on a lively family interactive matinee. Families will be introduced to a fun, engaging and creative way to dance including a unique chance to dance on stage with NDCW dancers, ask questions to the professionals about life as a dancer and see them perform an exciting work.

Another highlight is Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch’s, Hola! coming to Cardiff. This is a new play and Welsh language drama about the extraordinary story of the ordinary Welsh people who emigrated to Patagonia 150 years ago, telling the real life story of the parents and children’s journey on the ship Mimosa.

Launched in 2013, the Family Arts Festival is an exuberant nationwide celebration. The festival is part of a wider scheme, the Family Arts Campaign, which aims to support organisations up and down the country to provide high quality family friendly events and encouraging family participation in the arts. Since it started the festival has included 9000 family arts events by over 1000 organisations.
