THE first national youth orchestra in the world will be performing at St David's Hall, Cardiff.

Featuring 115 of Wales' finest young musicians, the National Youth Orchestra of Wales will perform Stravinsky's classic ballet score, The Rite of Spring, alongside music by Paul Dukas and Florient Schmitt in its concert on Saturday, August 1 at 7.30pm.

Internationally-acclaimed conductor, Paul Daniel CBE, will bring a wealth of experience and energy to the role of NYOW conductor, and will bring such a fantastic programme to life through the talents of the NYOW's players.

Paul has worked with symphony orchestras and opera companies all over the world. He was music director of English National Opera for a number of years before spending time with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra as its principal conductor and artistic director.
