A FREERUNNING and parkour taster session will run at Barry Leisure Centre on Wednesday, July 29 from 4-5.30pm.

It will be open for those aged 16 and under who would like to get involved in these exciting sports.

This taster session costs £1 for everyone and will be run by experienced and qualified coaches who will take attendees through the basics of freerunning and parkour. Further weekly sessions run every Wednesday which will cost £3 per person, with a discounted rate of £1 for those in the Communities First areas which include parts of Buttrills, Cadoc, Castleland, Court and Gibbonsdown.

Andrew Cronin from Aim Art in Movement who will be running these sessions said "This is a great opportunity for young people to get involved and improve their fitness while having fun. Parkour and freerunning is all about getting from A to B using your surroundings and we will show you how to do that through using our safe equipment".

These sessions have been set up through a partnership including Barry Communities First, Vale Sports Development, Newydd Housing Association and Legacy Leisure.
