PAUL Mobbs, the man who tried to arrest the UK Cabinet on misconduct grounds earlier this year, is coming to Cowbridge.

Paull will be speaking on Wednesday, July 1 at the Lesser Hall, Cowbridge Town Hall at 7.30pm. The event has been organised by the Cardiff and Vale Green Party.

His presentation, entitled ‘Beyond Fracking’, is one of four lectures that Paul is giving on his tour of South Wales, where communities, and particularly in the Vale, are under threat from test drilling for shale gas.

Admission to the event is free, and light refreshments will be available. A donation will be welcomed, to help cover costs.

Paul Mobbs is an independent environmental consultant, author and lecturer. In ‘Beyond Fracking’ he describes how the fracking industry is currently developing across Britain.

More importantly, he outlines the most critical issues that the media and political debate about unconventional gas and oil have fail to consider - in particular waste disposal, landscape impacts, and the minimal and short-lived nature of the resource.

Alan Armstrong, Cardiff and the Vale Green Party said, “We’re delighted to welcome Paul Mobbs to the Vale and know from experience that his talk will be an eye-opener on the politics, economics and civil rights issues of future national energy policy. Come along and join us - it’ll be an informative evening.”
