A BARRY-BASED performing arts company has bagged the rights to a Broadway hit family musical and it will make its Welsh debut in Dinas Powys.
Nineteen local children, from Superstars in the Making Performing Arts Academy, will take to the stage at Dinas Powys Parish Hall for the Welsh premiere of Freckleface Strawberry the Musical.
The musical is based on the New York Times Best Selling book by celebrated actress Julianne Moore.
The show follows the story of a young girl who has ginger hair and freckles.
The audience are taken on a journey from her being bullied by her school class to learning to love herself for who she is and overcome the bullies.
Superstars in the Making director Christian Bullen said: “A lot of children are exposed to bullying at some point in their school years and this is a show created to celebrate the differences all children have to make them unique.
“With fun catchy songs and dances performed live by a talented youth cast, this is a great event for the whole family to enjoy with an excellent message.”
Shows take place at Dinas Powys Parish Hall at 7pm on Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30.
