THE Remi Harris Project has been announced as the headlining act at the inaugural Vale Jazz Weekend.

Running over the weekend of June 19-21, Remi takes Traditional Gypsy Jazz and Swing and infuse it with influences from Bebop, Blues, Rock, World Music and Funk.

Remi is considered one of the UK's top up and coming Jazz Guitarists and awarded runner up in last year's Guitar category at the British Jazz Awards.

Over the weekend there will be 14 different venues playing music which involves over 20 acts including local and national artists, which features a 40s era jazz trio to fit in with the Barry at War Weekend to Canute a Funk-Latin Jazz Collection, New Orleans style piano player Dale Storr to the stomping 'bluesgrass' of Big Joe Bone, the ambient Folk Blues of Sean Taylor to a Blues/Jazz Fusion Trio.

The whole weekend is a free event, kindly sponsored by The Arts Council of Wales, Barry Town Council, Vale of Glamorgan Council and many other local businesses.
