ON May 28, Dyffryn Gardens celebrates Fascination of Plants Day with visiting scientists from Cardiff University Biosciences.
Join the local scientists between 11am and 4pm for a range of hands-on activities including extracting DNA from strawberries, matching seeds to foods and other products, identifying plants by their smells, observing plants up close and seeing carnivorous plants in action.
Hear about the current research Cardiff University is doing and discover more about everyday plants, foods and smells and testing knowledge of where our foods come from.
All ages are welcome to come along and have a go. Normal admission prices apply.
These activities are part of this year’s international Fascination of Plants Day, coordinated in the UK by the UK Plant Sciences Federation (UKPSF). The main focus of Fascination of Plants Day is to celebrate the importance of plants in our lives and landscapes.
You can visit Dyffryn Gardens every day this spring to enjoy the gardens which are open all year around, 7 days a week.
