AT St David’s Hall this weekend they will welcome four incredibly artists to perform.

First up will be Mary Black and special guest Sharon Shannon on Friday, May 15.

After more than 25 years in the spotlight, the much-loved Dubliner has made the difficult decision to hang up her touring boots. But she believes behind a staggering legacy of 11 acclaimed albums, which have all reached Platinum status and spawned countless hits. Fittingly, her entire back catalogue will be celebrated in this sensational show entitled The Last Call.

Mary’s enduring success has proven that her depth of talent and her love of singing transcend the generations, as well as national and musical boundaries too. Incredibly, her classic triple-Platinum album No Frontiers spent more than year in the Irish Top 30 in 1989.

The astonishing follow-ups Babes in the Wood and The Holy Ground further enhanced her growing reputation, which later gained her a legion of fans including Van Morrison, Joan Baez and Emmylou Harris.

In 2008, Mary marked the 25th anniversary of her first solo album by releasing a special double album entitled 25 Years/25 Songs. The compilation not only emphasised the strength of her work, but also her staggering range.

Support on the tour is provided by Sharon Shannon, who is also one of Ireland’s most endearing voices. The County Clare multi-instrumentalist uses Irish folk music as a starting point, but also segues into reggae plus French, Canadian and Portuguese music.

Tickets for the show cost from £27.50 to £29.50.

Then on Saturday, May 16, Christy Moore with Declan Sinnott will perform.

Christy has captivated audiences worldwide with his stunning solo work and as a member of folk group Planxty and Celtic rock outfit Moving Hearts. Plus, he’ll be sharing the stage with acclaimed long-term collaborator and friend, Declan Sinnott.

Four decades in the music business hasn’t dampened Christy’s fire, and he remains a relevant force in today's contemporary music scene. He was named Ireland's Greatest Living Musician in RTÉ's People of the Year Awards in 2007. Plus, he won the Best Male Artist at Ireland's prestigious Meteor Music Awards in 2010, whilst the Penguin Book of Irish Verse included his classic song Lisdoonvarna.

Tickets to the show cost from £32.50 to £35.

Bookings are subject to a £2.95 ticket service charge per transaction.
