IMAGE Musical Theatre will bring their show Merlin: Sword in the Stone to the Memo Arts Centre, Barry, on Saturday, May 23.

This family friendly musical will involve audience participation.

Arthurian legends have excited children for centuries and this adaptation is no exception. The mystical ‘Sword in the Stone’ follows the life of Arthur, a young squire destined to be king, and the magical wizard Merlin. Arthur and Merlin embark together on many adventures, lessons and whilst at a tournament, Arthur pulls a sword from a stone, unwittingly fulfilling the swords prophecy and making him king of England.

The show requires the participation of the audience as the chorus and up to 10 children to play small parts within the show.

With beautiful costumes, enchanting sets and magical puppetry, this production will captivate audiences of all ages, continuing Image Musical Theatre’s tradition of providing the very best touring theatre.

Tickets for the show cost £6 each. Doors open at 1.30pm for a 2pm start and the show is suitable for children aged five and over.
