AS part of the National Gardens Scheme, Ty’n Y Berllan in Cardiff will be open to the public on Sunday, May 10.

Situated on Graig Llwyn Road, Lisvane, this is a two acre garden set around an ancient farmhouse.

Beds of azaleas, rhododendrons, camellia and mixed shrubs, set in undulating lawns designed to blend with the fields and woodlands around. The lawns are planted with trees such as oak, beech, hornbeam, ginkgo and tulip which provide interest and yr-round colour, together with stream, pond and new Mediterranean garden.

Spring bulbs, primula and stream give natural informality to sit and dream as well as a courtyard garden and pool, Wollemi pine.

The garden will be open from 1pm until 6pm and admission is £4 with children’s entry free. There will be homemade teas available.
