CERDDORFA Dinas Powys Orchestra will be performing at this year’s Dinas Powys Music Festival in May which will replace their usual Spring Concert.

This will be their first concert with the festival and they hope all their supporters will come along on Sunday, May 10 to the Parish Hall, Britway Road, Dinas Powys at 7.30pm.

The programme will include: Verdi ‘Prelude to La Traviata’ and Franz Waxman ‘Carmen Fantasie’ with violin soloist David Horvat, an exceptional and charismatic young violinist, by kind permission of the Yehudi Menhuin School of Music.

He will be playing a virtuoso violin solo in this lively interpretation by the Oscar winning Hollywood composer Franz Waxman on a fantasy of themes from Bizet’s Carmen.

The second half of the programme will include Wagner ‘Wesendonck Songs, soloist Sian Meinir Wright and Mendelssohn Symphony No. 4 ‘Italian’.
