THE activist group Anonymous will be holding event to help the homeless community on April 13.

People from Barry, Penarth and the Vale helped the group with donation which contributed to a previous event that was held in Cardiff.

There was so much support that organisers were able to make a number of further visits to homeless people ensuring that they received warm clothes, blankets and food during the severely cold winter.

Initially planned as a one off, it was so successful that it inspired a number of similar events including one on March 16 outside Cardiff Castle. As this was such a success the next one is on April 13.

Organiser Samantha King said “The people we helped were so appreciative; they asked if we could arrange another one. We couldn’t say no. It is a very rewarding project to be involved in and we have made new friends and had such a great time.”

If people would like to get involved with the project they can donate warm clothing, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, dog food (preferably dry). If you are interested in helping people contact Samantha on 07961843553.

There will also be a fundraising live raffle at The Tadross Hotel Barry from 7pm on April 11. This would be a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting involved to meet the organisers and find out more about these events.

The group is hoping to raise funds for equipments to help on a more permanent basis. If you can donate please visit gofundme.com/r4v9hhac4?fb_action_ids=10202688005560657&fb_action_types=og.shares.
