THE Vale of Glamorgan Artists, VOGA, will be the next group to exhibit at Dyffryn Gardens from April 2.

The professional artists have spent the past year creating contemporary artworks inspired by the beautiful Grade II-listed house and its extravagant gardens, deemed the best Edwardian garden in Wales.

The exhibition will run until the end of May.

Run by the National Trust, the estate is visibly returning to its former glory and the artists have recorded their responses in a wide range of media from oil paint to photography and sculpture and ceramics to quilts.

Visitors will be able to enjoy an exciting and diverse range of artworks.

VOGA chairman Bernard Heslin says “Dyffryn has provided us with a fascinating and beautiful site in which to work. We have enjoyed accessing the buildings and gardens during our year-long residency through the changing seasons.”

Works on display will include sculptures by Pam Jones, Sue Roberts and Gwyneth Price, over 300 postcard sized paintings by Sue Paton, sketches from Richard O’Connell and paintings from Allan Brown, Ann Townson and Bernard van Lierop and textile work by Judy Stephens.

The exhibition which is called A Year at Dyffryn with VOGA will include a number of drop-in drawing workshops open to the public on April 18 and 25.

The exhibition will launch the Exhibition Hall, which is accessible to the public whenever the gardens are open.
