WALES Millennium Centre will team up again with Southbank Centre to present WOW (Women of the World) Caerdydd, a festival of free performances, workshops, a market place, networking opportunities and talks on various topics.

Established to promote equality for women and girls, WOW festival celebrates achievements while also exploring the obstacles women and girls still face in the UK and across the world.

The festival takes place on March 20 and 21 with WOW Caerdydd offering a varied programme of free events for all ages from Speed Mentoring to Self Defence, jewellery and clothing making to a ‘Be Your Own Superhero’ workshop.

Covering a wide range of topics including the arts, health, race, clothing, craft and many more, the festival seeks to bring together women and men to think about and discuss how they are making the world a fairer place and why this matters.

Since launching at the Southbank Centre in 2011, WOW festival has grown into a global festival, taking place in cities including Baltimore, USA and Sydney, Australia as part of the Sydney Writers Festival. In 2013 the first WOW festival in the UK outside of London took place in Derry-Londonderry as part of the City of Culture, followed by the first WOW Caerdydd in 2014, along with WOW Cambridge.
