THE International Concert Series at St David’s Hall, Cardiff, continues with the prestigious St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra.

The Orchestra will perform on Tuesday, February 10 at 7.30pm.

Regarded as one of Russia’s most reputable orchestras, they promise an exciting programme filled with the drama of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers beautifully told in the towering tragedy of Tchaikovsky’s (Pathétique) Symphony.

Plus, they are joined by three of today’s great soloists for a rare performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. Conductor Alexander Dmitriev is accompanied by hugely talented pianist Freddy Kempf and the supremely gifted violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky. Due to unforeseen circumstances Natalie Clien can no longer make this concert, but she has been replaced by the internationally acclaimed Tim Hugh, who is widely regarded as the greatest living Welsh cellist.

The International Concert Series offers breathtaking performances of classical music from the world’s best orchestras. From great romantic masterpieces to captivating choral classics and the sharp scintillating sounds of early and contemporary music, there are few better places to enjoy the thrill of a live concert than St David's Hall.

Plus, the National Concert of Wales is committed to promoting orchestral and classical music to as wide and diverse an audience as possible. If you’ve never experienced the thrill of a live orchestra, the £5 introductory price is ideal.

Tickets cost from £5 to £42 plus a £2.95 ticket service charge per transaction.
