Solidly building momentum following the success of debut single ‘Voyager 1’ and free download ‘The Ship’ last year, Black Rivers – consisting of two-thirds of Manchester legends Doves – will release their brand new single ‘The Forest’ on February 9th (on Ignition Records). Their self-titled debut album will also be released on the same day.

Brimming with natural imagery and Northern Soul, ‘The Forest’ – as with the rest of the album - is entirely written and produced by Jez & Andy Williams, and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer.

Since first announcing the formation of Black Rivers this summer, the duo have already established a growing reputation. Introductory track ‘The Ship’ was featured in NME’s On Repeat column and was also selected as a Q Track of the Day, while their first full single ‘Voyager 1’ added to that strong start as it hit the A list at BBC 6 Music as well as the daytime playlist at XFM. Black Rivers also performed a coveted Saturday Session for Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show.

Their early festival dates at Kendal Calling and Belsonic ewere followed by a sold-out headline tour in October which included their first London show as well as a homecoming date in Manchester. Black Rivers’ play a headline show at Bristol's Fleece on February 11.
