ON SUNDAY, December 21, there will be the lovely service of Christingle for families and children at St Paul’s Church. All the children will receive a Christingle – an orange with a candle representing Christ as the light of the world.

The service begins at 4pm and lasts for less than one hour and for many it will provide a lovely opportunity to prepare for the coming of Christmas.

Also, the Revd Brian Taylor is appealing to all former members of St Paul’s Church Choir in the early 1980’s to join him for a reunion at the Christingle service. At that time Brian Taylor, as a 19 year old, became organist and choir master at St Paul’s before becoming ordained as an Anglican priest. Now Brian has retired from full-time ministry and has returned to assist in the Churches of St Paul’s and Merthyr Dyfan.

Brian said: “It would be wonderful to meet up with my friends from 30 years ago and I look forward to welcoming them all.”

St Paul’s Church is in St Paul’s Avenue, and is the first Anglican Church built for the new town of Barry in 1892.
