THE Rhoose and District History Society will be holding their monthly meeting on Friday, November 28 at 7.30pm at the Lesser Hall, Rhoose Community Hall, Stewart Road, Rhoose.

Terry Sylvester will be talking about ‘The Waverley Paddle Steamer’.

As this is their last meeting before Christmas there will be a buffet after the talk. Members will be bringing a selection of photographs of the area and if anyone would like to bring some of their photos along to show and discuss please do.

THE Vale of Glamorgan Labour Party will hold its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 29. The fair will be held at the Margaret Alexander Community Centre, Alexandra Crescent (off Jenner Road), Barry.

The fun will begin at 11am and there will be plenty of stalls to stock up on Christmas goodies as well as a visit from Father Christmas.

ROMILLY Primary School will be holding a Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 29 from 1pm until 4pm. They will have a Santa’s Grotto, craft stalls, a bouncy castle, face painting, refreshments and more.

BARRY Brass Band will perform a free programme of Christmas music from 10.30am until noon on Saturday, November 29. They will be playing at St John the Baptist Church, Cardiff where they will be supporting the work of Cards for Good Causes.

The pop up Christmas card shop sells advent calendars and Christmas goods on behalf of 27 local and national charities in St John the Baptist Church opposite Central Market from Monday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm until Tuesday, December 16.

BARRY Spiritualist Church and Centre, Buttrills Road is holding a divine service on Sunday, November 30 at 6pm with Linda Perry.

Monday, December 1 at 7pm will be an evening of mediumship with psychic artist Lin Martin. Entry is £5 and tickets are available.

Spiritualist healing is available Thursday at 2pm-3.30pm and 6.30pm-7.30pm.

THERE will be a Christmas Market at The Vale Resort Hotel, Hensol, Vale of Glamorgan on November 30. The event will run from 9am until 5.30pm.

VALEPLUS are holding a charity bric-a-brac sale on Friday, December 5 from 1.30pm until 3pm at 118a High Street, Barry.

There will be a variety of stalls so come along and grab yourself a Christmas bargain. All proceeds go towards providing opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. Entry is free and all are welcome.

THE Whitmore Bay voluntary lifeguards will be holding their annual Boxing Day swim on December 26 with them meeting in front of the lifeguard station, Western Shelter, Paget Road, Barry Island.

They will be preparing at 11.30am for their swim at noon.
