CHARITY organisation, The Big Wrap, will be hosting a Big Quiz to help support disadvantaged children and young people across South Wales this Christmas.

The quiz will be held at the Ship Hotel, Harbour Road, Barry on Tuesday, November 25 at 7.30pm. Teams of four to six people are welcome to compete, and all proceeds will go towards helping give deprived people a helping hand this Christmas.

Last year, thanks to the support of the Vale Council and Cardiff City Football Club and its fan, over 500 children were supported by the Big Wrap scheme.

This year the charity is looking to help even more people enjoy a generous Christmas.

The Big Wrap is happy to receive toys, which should be new and unwrapped, as well as gift tokens or financial donations. Donations can be taken to the Vale Civic Offices on Holton Road, Barry from now until December 12.

Susan Lloyd-Selby, the Big Wrap coordinator, said: “We are delighted to be running the Big Wrap in partnership with the Vale Council and Cardiff City Football Club again this year. Every present we receive will be given to a child or young person who might otherwise receive nothing or very little for Christmas. We would like to thank the Council, the team and its supporters in advance. With your help, we can make sure Christmas reaches even more children this year.”

Working in partnership with local agencies, the Big Wrap is run by volunteers and relies entirely on donations from local organisations and members of the public. Presents will be given to children and young people identified by front line care professionals, including social workers, local charities and churches.
