THE Llandaff Cathedral Choral Society will be joined by the Crickhowell Choral Society and the British Sinfonietta for a performance of the Requiem by Verdi in Llandaff Cathedral on Saturday, November 15.

The performance will be conducted by Dominic Neville and will begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost between £12 and £15 and half price for students.

Barry’s Wyndham Conservative Club at Harbour Road is set to provide a further boost for the Help for Heroes charity.

Following the great success of previous music and karaoke/barbecue events, which have raised more than £2,000 for the charity, the club is hosting a fun quiz night (quizmaster Norman Pereira) in its upstairs lounge on Saturday, November 15, from 7.30pm.

A Christmas Fayre will be held at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Trinity Street, Barry on Saturday, November 16. Starting at 10.30am there will be stalls selling cakes, gifts, bric-a-brac, jewellery plus raffles.

Entrance is just £1 which includes a cup of tea or coffee and all are welcome.

Tickets to see the Courteeners go on sale tomorrow for their upcoming gig taking place at Cardiff University Solus. The band will play at the venue on Monday, November 17 to promote their just-released fourth album Concrete Love. Cadoxton Christian Spiritualist Church is holding a table top sale on Saturday, November 22 from 10am until 2pm. Tables are £5 each and admission is £1 (if you have your own table you can bring that would be great).
