THERE will be a selection of activities and events run by the incredible Destino Dance Company which was founded by Junaid Jemal Sendi and Addisu Demissie.

They will be running fundraising workshops and performances throughout November in a bid to continue the great work that participating in dance provides.

When the founders were just 11 years old, they were working on the streets of Addis Ababa when they were selected to participate in an extensive five year dance training programme by Dance United London and Ethiopian Gemini Trust.

Today they hope to give other people the chance to change their lives through dance.

Starting on November 6 they will be at the Gate Theatre from 7.30pm and 9.30pm. Valley and Vale Arts which is supporting them presents ‘Dance for Destino’. It is a fundraising event to support dance for change in Ethiopia. Prices to attend are £7 and £6 for concessions with free Ethiopian coffee on arrival and tickets available on door.

Then on November 13 they will perform at Chapter Arts Centre with Jessie Brett from 8pm.

On November 14 will be at the People Dancing Foundation for Community Dance where they will perform and take part in a panel discussion.

They will appear at Cardiff Metropolitan University, UWIC Campus on November 22 from 10.30am till 1.30pm. There will be an African dance workshop open to all adults. It costs £16 per person and to book a place contact jessiebrett@hotmail.com.

Finally, on November 23 there will be a pop up Ethiopian restaurant at Penylan Pantry from 8pm.
