ON Monday, October 27, Glamorgan Archives will launch its First World War project ‘Summoned From The Hillsides’.
Those attending will be given a first glimpse of Glamorgan Archives’ First World War online resources. These indexes, compiled by volunteers at the Archives, cover all manner of records.
The resources are being made available free of charge to the public, who will be able to use them for their own research purposes, to inform community events and local commemorations, along with family trees and the histories of towns and villages.
The event will feature work by pupils from schools who have visited the Archives to investigate the First World War and the effect it had on their own localities.
The launch will take place in the Llyni Room from 2.30pm and will be available online the same day at www.glamarchives.gov.uk.
