BARRY Memo has a variety of films lined up for this November, including World Cinema Screenings.

On Monday 3 will be the World Cinema Screening of ‘The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared’ (15).

On his 100th birthday, Allan Karlsson decides it's time to break free from the constraints of the care home, so he hops out the window and hits the road. Where this retired dynamite expert goes, adventure follows and he soon finds himself being pursued by a psychotic gangster.

'The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared' is based on Jonas Jonasson's best-selling novel of the same name.

On Tuesday 11 will be ‘The Two Faces of January’ (12A).

While on vacation, glamorous American couple Chester (Viggo Mortensen) and Colette (Kirsten Dunst) encounter Rydal, a young, Greek speaking American who is drawn to Colette’s beauty and impressed by Chester’s wealth and sophistication. But all is not as it seems with the couple and Rydal is soon drawn into a series of sinister events, sparking jealousy and paranoia. Their journey across Greece and Turkey soon becomes a tense and dangerous battle of wits between the two men with Colette caught in the middle.

Thursday 13 is the showing of ‘Fading Gigolo’ (15).

Murray is the owner of a New York bookstore that's rapidly going out of business. When his dermatologist Dr. Parker (Sharon Stone) tells him that she could use some male company for a very particular purpose, Murray seizes the opportunity to make some cash. He impetuously says he knows just the man. Now all he has to do is persuade glum middle-aged florist Fioravante to accept a dramatic career change. With Murray as his 'manager', Fioravante delights clients ranging from Dr. Parker's beautiful friend Selima to lonely, widowed Hasidic Jew Avigal.

Writer/director/star John Turturro gives Woody Allen his biggest onscreen role in years while playing the modest Casanova to perfection in this witty, offbeat and oddly affecting comedy.

Monday 17 will be the indie foodie comedy ‘Chef’ (15).

After Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) loses his restaurant gig, he decides it’s time to reclaim creative control in the kitchen with his very own food truck. As he cooks up his new menu and takes his meals out on the road, Casper also begins reconnecting with his estranged family.

Saturday 22 will be the Family Cinema Screening of ‘Escape from Planet Earth’ (PG).

Astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero to the blue alien population. A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary, head of mission control at BASA. When BASA receive an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary's warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. But when Scorch finds himself caught in a fiendish trap set it's up to scrawny, risk-adverse Gary to do the real rescuing.

The film will begin at 11am and costs £2.50 per ticket.

On Monday 24 will be Richard Linklater’s time-lapse drama ‘Boyhood’ (15).

This epic family drama follows Mason as he grows from a boy into a man, documenting his experiences of everyday family life as well as the milestone moments of his childhood and adolescence. Shot over 12 years, this unique drama captures its cast members ageing in real time.

'Boyhood' director Richard Linklater is the filmmaker behind the acclaimed 'Before Sunrise/Before Sunset/Before Midnight' series.

The last film in November is the World Cinema Screening of ‘Cinema Paradiso’ (15).

A famous film director remembers his childhood at the Picture House in his Sicilian village where Alfredo, the projectionist, introduced him to his love of films. He returns home for the first time after almost 30 years and is reminded of his first love, Elena, who disappeared from his life before he left for Rome.

The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles.

All films have a screening at 1pm and 7pm and cost £4.50 in advance or £5.50 on the door unless otherwise stated.
