BARRY Memo has a variety of films lined up for this October, including family friendly and ones just for adults.

On Monday 6, Jersey Boys (15) will be shown.

Clint Eastwood takes 'Jersey Boys' from stage to screen, telling the true-life story of the wildly popular American singing group Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Focusing on the dynamic career of the iconic '60s group, the musical centres on Frankie Valli, a young boy with an incredible voice, and his fellow band mates. It follows their journey to fame, from their formation on the gritty streets of New Jersey to their triumph in the music industry, and features a soundtrack packed with their greatest hits.

Wednesday 8 will be the showing of Half of a Yellow Sun (15).

Biyi Bandele makes his directorial debut with this adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's novel starring Thandie Newton and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

In the late 1960s twin sisters Olanna and Kainene arrive back home in Nigeria, having finished their studies in England. While Olanna moves in with her boyfriend, professor Odenigbo, and his young houseboy, Ugwu, Kainene becomes a businesswoman and gets involved with British writer Richard. As civil war breaks out, political events loom larger than their differences as they join the fight to establish an independent republic.

Monday 20 is the drama Labor Day (12A).

Starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin which takes place over a long weekend as a single mother and her teenage son take in a very unexpected visitor.

Kate Winslet stars as Adele, a fragile and reclusive woman, who lives with her son Henry, a young boy on the brink of adolescence. While out of the house on a shopping trip, they encounter a wounded, bleeding man, who later reveals himself to be an escaped prisoner. Over the course of the weekend, an intense connection forms between Adele and the convict.

Narrated by the older Henry (Tobey Maguire), this moving and emotional story is adapted from the novel of the same title by Joyce Maynard.

The family fun film Mr. Peabody and Sherman (U) will be shown on Monday 27 at 10am.

A dog genius and his pet boy travel through time to experience world-changing events in this crazy animated comedy.

Meet Mr. Peabody. He's a business tycoon, brilliant inventor, Nobel Prize-winning scientist, two time Olympic medallist and all-round genius. He's also a dog - a dog with spectacles and a red bow-tie. Mr Peabody's greatest invention is the WABAC machine that allows his to travel through time. With his adopted boy, Sherman, he embarks on a romp through history visiting momentous events and interacts with great figures.

This screening will cost £2.50 each.

Later on the same day will be the showing of Maleficent (PG).

Angelina Jolie stars in the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic "Sleeping Beauty."

A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman with stunning black wings, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army of humans threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal - an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the king of the humans and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realises that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom - and to Maleficent's true happiness as well.

On Wednesday 29 will be the World Cinema Screening of The Great Beauty (15).

Jep Gambardella has charmed and seduced his way through the lavish nightlife of Rome for decades.

When his sixty-fifth birthday coincides with a shock from the past, Jep finds himself unexpectedly taking stock of his life, turning his cutting wit on himself and his contemporaries, and looking past the extravagant nightclubs, parties, and cafés to find Rome in all its glory: a timeless landscape of absurd, exquisite beauty.

This Oscar and BAFTA winning film is in Italian with English subtitles.

The last film of the month will be How to Train your Dragon 2 (PG) on Thursday 30 at 10am.

Animated family adventure 'How To Train Your Dragon 2' sees Toothless and Hiccup fly back on to screens for another fantastical adventure.

Taking place five years after the first film, the story rejoins the Vikings and dragons as they live harmoniously on Berk enjoying races in the sky. During one of their high-flying games, Hiccup and Toothless encounter a herd of wild dragons led by a mysterious Dragon Rider and once again, they find themselves fighting to keep the peace in their kingdom.

'How To Train Your Dragon 2' features the voices of Jay Baruchel, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill and Gerard Butler.

Tickets to this film cost £2.50 each.

All films have screening times at 1pm and 7pm and costs £4.50 in advance or £5.50 on the door unless otherwise stated.
