A NEW exhibition by the talented Tom Clemett is on display now at ‘The Room in the Park’, Victoria Park, Barry. Photographs from the past will be exhibited under the titled “Sea and Seaside” until Sunday, October 26.

One of Barry’s and Cadoxton’s best known characters, local historian Tom Clemett returns to Victoria Park with another collection of historic photographs and reminders of Barry.

For over six years Tom has been regularly putting on exhibitions in Victoria Park and other venues around Barry. Victoria Park are delighted to welcome him back again for this autumn.

This time Tom has over 200 photographs in his exhibition, many not seen before as he has recently had some donated to his collection. Tom describes the exhibition as “a montage of photographs of Barry Island, Barry Dock, and the recently in the news Cold Knap. I hope to bring back some good memories, and I hope people will enjoy them”.

Park Manager Jon Greatrex said “There is always something to talk about at Tom’s exhibitions, he has a huge selection of photographs and postcards to draw on and always finds something new. This time his exhibition includes copies of photographs showing everything from copies of pre-war advertising posters for Barry Island, all the way through photos of warships in the channel during the recent NATO summit.

There is no charge to see the exhibition.

You can view the photographs from 10am until 4pm daily throughout the week, with the exception of one hour between 1pm and 2pm for lunch on the weekends and some very occasional times when they have meetings.

Victoria Park is one of the Vale of Glamorgan’s finest Parks, and the only six times Green Flag award winning park in Barry.
