THIS October It’s My Shout Production will host its first ever four day film festival called Film Fest Cymru. The festival will celebrate new talent in film, television and the arts in Wales. From October 11 to 14, both in and around Cardiff Bay, the festival will showcase a wide range of groups and individuals that It’s My Shout has worked with over the year.

The festival will play host to dynamic performers from across the country, including singers, dancers, musicians, poets and more. Film Fest Cymru is also the place to be for anyone interested in developing their film skills. Across the Saturday and Sunday festival-goers will be able to attend workshops and seminars with experts and respected industry professionals in Cardiff Bay.

Among these talks by industry professionals will be a Directing Workshop with Phillip John; Composing for Film and Television with BAFTA award winning composer John Rea; Cinematography with Director of Photography Rory Taylor and Comedy Writing with Boyd Clack and Kirsten Jones.

Attendees will also be able to meet Matt Savage, an ex-It’s My Shout trainee now working as a concept artist on the latest Star Wars film, and Danny Clark, another ex-It’s My Shout trainee now working in the Star Wars design department.

It doesn’t stop there either. It’s My Shout have commissioned an artist from Chile - Sebastian Mardones - to build a Graffiti Photography Wall as part of the “Faces in Places” exhibition, which looks to reflect individuals and communities from the areas across Wales where It’s My Shout’s BBC/S4C Made in Wales series was made.

It’s My Shout Productions takes on hundreds of young people as trainees annually, both in front of and behind the camera, giving them opportunities to work on short films for BBC Cymru Wales and S4C. Every year these films are premiered at a red carpet Awards Ceremony in the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. Being held this year on October 12, it is the flagship event of the festival; a reward for the hard work of the young people taking part in the filming over the summer.

Weekend tickets cost £25 each and allow access to all festival events, as well as discounts for the Premiere event. Day tickets are also available. Tickets are available through Wales Millennium Centre at www.wmc.org.uk.
