GLAMORGAN Archives will be opening its doors as part of the CADW ‘Open Doors’ event. On Saturday, September 13 come along and discover what the archive building does and how it works.

There will be behind the scenes tours running at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm, to guarantee a place call Glamorgan Archives to reserve a free place on 02920 872200.

There will conservation demonstrations and hands on activities going on in our studio - come and try your hand at paper marbling.

The box making machine will be in action, showing how we package archives to protect and preserve them. Put together your very own archive box - what would you preserve forever in the archives?

They will be showing films which showcase our community work and the activities they get involved in each year.

Explore documents recording hundreds of years of the built heritage of Glamorgan.

Staff will be on hand to offer advice and guidance on starting and continuing your research.

All these events are free, and you’re welcome to call in at any time between 1pm and 4pm.
