Pet care volunteers needed
ELDERLY and terminally ill people in Barry are appealing for volunteers to help with pet care.
The charity Cinnamon Trust works to keep owners and pets together for as long as possible, but where owners become unable to care for the pets the charity appeals for volunteers to help.
Volunteers for day to day care, such as dog walking, pet feeding and cleaning are needed in the town.
Moira Butler, a volunteer co-ordinator at the charity said: "We have a particular problem at present in Barry and surrounding area.
"We have a concerned owner that due to failing health, they are no longer able to walk their dog.
"We would like to arrange for a rota of people to help this elderly owner, but unfortunately we do not have enough registered volunteers available."
Anyone who feels as though they have some time to spare and is able to help care for these pets, as well as anyone who may want to foster a pet who's owner is facing a short spell in hospital.
Moira added: "Anyone with even an hour a week to spare can make a huge difference. We would be very grateful for your help."
Potential volunteers should call 01736 757900 or email Moira at admin@cinnamon.org.uk for an information pack.
