IN response to "Cadoxton Reader" (Barry and District News, November 10), please could he/she enlighten me where the "lot" of money is being spent on the Cadoxton Bowling Club?

Being a member of the club, as far as I"m aware the only money to date spent on the club has been raised by a few hardworking members, who raised in excess of £20,000 over two years, and the generosity of members of the club and public to be able to build an extension.

Unless someone can enlighten me, there was no money coming from the council, SportsLot, or Europe for that matter.

Indeed it seems the only contribution that came from the council as far as the Bowls Club was concerned was that when the park was brought up to scratch, the council buildings within the bowls area were to be demolished and new ones erected to be used by the park wardens (welcome indeed).

Also the surrounding fence was to be taken down - the very fence that was put up to stop vandals from destroying the green itself.
