I am incensed that the Palmer family has to go through all this again (Barry and District News, April 27).
If it s not bad enough that they have lost their son to an incident involving drink-driving, for the driver to ask for his license back early beggars belief.
No-one forced him to drink, he chose to, so he should take what is coming to him, even if it s inconvenient.
Three years is a short time out of his young life, but Aaron hasn t got that choice - he s gone.
The courts should have made it clear when he was sentenced that he couldn t have his license back before the three years were up.
The law must change. So many people have lost their lives to drink drivers - when are they going to realise the car is a lethal weapon?
All I can say to this young man is, do what the rest of us do and get public transport, or what you should have done the night of the accident, get a taxi.
