FRIENDS and family of eight-year-old Barry girl Courtney Williams will be helping to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust this Bank Holiday Monday, by taking part in the Great Welsh Run.
In total, 17 people will be running the race with Courtney, of Gibbonsdown, who has Cystic Fibrosis - including her father Craig and other family friends.
Courtney s family have been fundraising for the charity since she was diagnosed, and hold events every year. Recently they organised a Fright Night and raised over 3,000. Treks to Ben Nevis and discos have also been organised in the past. This will be the fifth year family and friends have taken part in the five-mile Great Welsh Run, which is expected to attract 1,700 participants.
Courtney s mother, Ceri Williams said: Our family and friends are so great supporting the Trust. They are always willing to do anything.

l A BARRY grandmother of three will also be pushing herself to the limit to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in the Great Welsh Run. Anne Heslop, 64, will be walking a 2km fun run as part of the event. Mrs Heslop will walk alongside family members, including grandson Joe Evans, who has Cystic Fibrosis.
