SOUTH Wales based Admiral has recently donated 150 to Barry Swan Rescue.
Barry Swan Rescue has been helping sick and injured birds for 18 years, and has been a registered charity for the past ten. Since 1996, the centre has helped more than 7,000 birds.
Admiral donated funds to Barry Swan Rescue through the Henry's Pot scheme. Named after the company's CEO, Henry Engelhardt, the scheme provides financial support to charities, organisations and groups with which its staff or their immediate families are involved.
Sian Lewis, a member of staff working in Admiral's elephant.co.uk brand requested the support for the charity, as her family often help out at the Rescue Centre.
Barry Swan Rescue depends on volunteers to help with the centre's work, and on local charitable donations to help them to continue.
The Rescue Centre currently houses around 29 birds, but the most it has ever looked after was 130 birds at the same time.
The charity cares for the birds until they are healthy and well enough to be set free back into the wild.
Anne Bird, from Barry Swan Rescue, said: "This donation from Admiral will help to pay for the day to day running of Barry Swan Rescue, including providing much needed food and bedding for the birds we rescue.
"We welcome any donations and new volunteers, so if anyone would like more information, please contact me on 07901 534463."
