Sponsoring

AS you may be aware, this month relief and development agency World Vision has launched an appeal to find 700 sponsors for 700 children living in poverty.

The child I sponsor is now eight years old and lives in the Niger district of Africa, which is prone to drought.

Poverty, disease and ill-health are widespread.

World Vision, with the much-needed support of their sponsors, not only ensure a supply of clean safe water and food but also train midwives and village health workers to help eradicate the problems they face.

Help for the literacy of mothers, and schools for children are also a top priority.

For just 60p per day we can change not only the lives of these children but transform their whole community, enabling them to overcome the poverty in which they are trapped.

If readers would like to find out more about sponsoring a child, they can contact World Vision on 0800 501010 or log onto www.sponsor.org
