TEACHER Aled Rhys Williams is hard at it training for the London Marathon in April 2006.
The Romilly Junior School teacher hopes to raise loads of money for the cancer charity Tenovus, after his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002.
After surgery she received chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment at Velindre Hospital, Cardiff - during which time she had fantastic support from'Tenovus'.
Aled, from Dinas Powys, said: "She is now in remission but we are so grateful for the care she received, especially from the specialist nurse funded by Tenovus.
"Participating in the London Marathon is my way of saying thank you for those who helped my mum fight this frightening disease. Please support me!"
An auction will be held at The Cross Keys in Dinas Powys at 8pm on Thursday, March 9.
Come along, enjoy the fun, and bring lots of money!
Items for auction include a weekend in a cottage in West Wales, a half-day fishing trip, signed memorabilia from international film star Ioan Gruffudd and a signed Welsh rugby shirt by the 2006 six nations squad.
If you are unable to come, but would like to support Aled in raising money for'Tenovus' please ring 029 20514 013 to make a telephone bid for the mentioned items or alternatively make a donation on-line at:
