...but good news for residents as council considers new CCTV camera

Meanwhile, Cadoxton residents could soon see the benefit of a new CCTV camera in the area.

Ward councillor Neil Moore said: "An urgent report was due to be presented to the Cabinet yesterday, recommending that a CCTV camera be placed on the corner of Church Road and Little Main Street.

"This project of extending the CCTV cameras, especially at Church Road, has been something that all the ward members for Cadoc have been trying to achieve for more years than I care to remember.

"As the local members we are very pleased that both our views and those of the police have been considered in making these recommendations.

"We have been aware that this has been in the pipeline for some time," added Cllr Moore.

"But we have not'counted our chickens before they hatched' and we have not raised the community's expectations, because since 1997 when the original bid to get a camera installed in this location failed, we have been working continuously to get it back on the agenda.

"We have been very close to achieving this previously, but it looks as though this time it will be successful, something that has been long overdue."
