So unfair

EVERYONE knows how important it is to encourage our young children into playing sports.

Why then, does Barry Leisure Centre not share this view?

I had the pleasure of seeing my granddaughter play her first netball match there on January 19.

She is nine-years-old and was very excited at playing her first game for Holton Primary School.

Unfortunately, hers was the last match, which was running a few minutes late.

One minute into the second half, the game was stopped and all players were asked to leave the court, because time had overrun by one minute.

It was the manager"s day off and no-one could tell me the name of the person in charge.

And why was I not surprised that the court was being made ready for grown men to practise football?

I do realise that for the leisure centre time is money, but surely the men could have waited five minutes.

The children were so disappointed.

Come on Barry Leisure, these children are our future.

Help their growth, don"t stunt it!
