Students fight their way to victory

JASON Griffiths would like to congratulate his students on their performance at the WKA Welsh championships - the prestige event held at Aberdare Leisure Centre on February 5.

Katy Haines put on an outstanding performance to win the lady grand champion belt.

In the final she fought five times world champion Ashley Brace and it was an outstanding fight from both girls. Katie took the title with an extra point in the last minute to secure the title.

Coach Jason Griffiths is proud of Katy as she has had an extremely successful year, winning the English contact karate (ECKA) national championship and also becoming the ECKA grand champion.

Other successful fighters were Lewis Deere who came 2nd in the -4 foot light continuous and Lloyd Deere who took 1st place in semi contact and 3rd in light continuous

Jordan Williams took 2nd place in the semi contact; Joshua Griffiths took 1st place in semi contact; Lewis Gould took joint 3rd in light continuous

Jason Griffiths, chief instructor, took an outstanding first place in his semi contact section and a 2nd place in his light continuous section.

Jason and his instructors would like to congratulate all his fighters for another successful tournament. They are now preparing for the next tournament at the Irish open in Dublin next month.

If anyone is interested in joining the Elite school of martial arts Jason has Lil Dragon classes age 4-7 years and juniors up to seniors in Barry and Cardiff.
