Online auction raises money for Ty Hafan

ASSOCIATES at Hexion Specialty Chemicals in Sully raised money for Ty Hafan by taking part in a company-wide Intranet auction for a whole smoked salmon, a case of wine, and other gifts which had been donated.

For the third year running, carol singing was enjoyed one lunchtime, just before Christmas, with employees providing the live music.

Three collection buckets were taken around the site for contributions, and the company matched what was given, pound for pound.

The total came to 636, which was presented to Mary Canham from Ty Hafan, in the music room at the hospice, by John Hunter, who had co-ordinated the events.

Mary said: "We are so grateful for the gift. The cost of running the hospice will exceed 2m in the coming year, and we are dependant on people's generosity to help these wonderful, but needy children."
