MARGAM were the visitors to Jenner Park for Saturday's South Wales Senior League Division 2 match against Cadoxton.
This was Robert Clay's last match before going to work in Japan for a year, so the team were determined to put in a big performance and please the sizeable crowd.
Cadoxton got off to a flying start when Christian Mills netted the opener from long range, and chances fell to both sides, but all seemed wasted in front of goal.
With stiff competition for places, Cons knew they needed to step up a gear and the second half began with a lot more purpose in their play.
The score line was doubled when birthday boy Mike Bobbett was on target with a low drive after some delicious build-up play.
The floodgates opened as Margam had no answer to Cadoxton's attacking game and further goals were inevitable.
Chris Barnett netted a further two, confirming his status as one of the division's finest midfielders (league clubs should keep an eye on his talent) and Mills and Matthew Bickley completed the rout with some deadly finishing.
Another pleasing aspect was the clean sheet, as Gavin Bousie was virtually a spectator in the Cadoxton goal.
The match was sponsored by Skylite Loft Conversions. Dop's Paint Mer-chants sponsored this week's ball.
Cadoxton travel to Hopkinstown for a tough game this Saturday, players to report to the club at 12.30pm.
The next home match is at Jenner Park on Saturday, January 21, at 2pm, against Caerphilly Town, with John Downes named as the referee for the match.
All are welcome to come and enjoy watching SWFA football.
