Man injured in four-car collision

A MAN was taken to hospital with chest and back injuries following a collision involving four cars on Jenner Road, Barry, 0n Wednesday morning.

But fortunately for builder Joseph Backhouse, 18, from Cardiff, his injuries were not serious.

A female driver of one of the cars also sustained a leg injury.

Police were called to the accident, which involved a Volkswagon Golf, Punto, Rover 416 and Ford Fiesta, at approximately 8.20am.

The fire and ambulance service arrived on the scene shortly after.

The area between Trinity Street and Heol Dewi Sant was blocked off for around half an hour, and traffic was diverted in other directions.

Local builder Steve Edwards said: "I got there after the incident and didn't see anything. But my colleague was the person taken to hospital."
