Cons mount comeback after penalty

AFC LLWYNYPIA 1

CADOXTON CONS 2

ON A HEAVY pitch, Cadoxton played some of their most attractive football of the season to come away with all three points in this New Year s Eve fixture.

As in previous weeks Cons fell behind to an early goal as the home striker was upended in the area and the resultant spot kick was converted.

An injury to Simon Chick saw Budgie Hawtin take to the field and, along with strike partner Christian Mills, caused the home defence all sorts of problems.

It was Mills who put Cons back on level terms as he finished off a fine passing move involving Tommy Taylor, Mike Bobbett and Matthew Bromley.

As the final whistle beckoned, what can only be described as a managerial master-stroke saw a substitution which eventually won Cons the game.

The new injection of pace into the front line allowed Mills to net the Cons winner from a tight angle - his 19th goal of the season.

This Saturday Cadoxton Cons entertain Margam at Jenner Park, kick-off 2pm.
