Cons find net six times in thriller

CADOXTON CONS 6

BUTETOWN STORM 3

THIS match was brought forward to Tuesday to enable the players to have Christmas Eve off to finish any last minute shopping.

Butetown have always proved to be a bogey side for Cadoxton Cons, but this fixture proved differently as Cons produced their best football of the season to run out worthy winners.

The use of linesmen proved to Cons advantage, as several tight decisions were given in their favour and as a result, the accurately timed runs resulted in goals.

Cons took the lead through Christian Mills but Butetown fought back and were all square at the break at 1-1.

This is when the difference told as Cons came out for the second half in rampant mood and dominated the whole second period. Barnett and Bobbett were outstanding in the engine room whilst Tommy Taylor and Rob Clay were solid at the back.

However it was Mills who proved to be chief tormentor as he netted a further three goals.

This was added to by a Chris Hurn double and Butetown were shell-shocked.

If Cons could keep up this kind of form then promotion should be well within their grasp.
