A highly entertaining game for Boxing Day

THE Blacks took on the Greens in the Boxing Day match at Barry Rugby Club.

The game replaced the traditional Barry RFC versus the Barrians match which was abandoned five years ago due to more stringent Welsh Rugby Union insurance regulations.

Now only players registered with Barry RFC and those with their own insurance are able to play in the match.

These included a number of older players including current team manager Colin Knapman.

Club secretary David James said the crowd enjoyed a highly entertaining game of Barbarian-style rugby which produced some fine tries.
