Dragons are on fiery form

BARRY Dragons Tae Kwon Do Club took part in the WUMA (World United Martial Arts) European Championships at Perdiswell Leisure Centre.

The first event on the mat was Korean Patterns, and in a large group dominated by Europeans, Mollie Arbuthnot of the Barry Dragons took the European patterns title in fine style, winning on all judges' score cards.

The Dragons' dominance of patterns continued with Tom Farmer taking second place in the same group. Cameron Davies also took second in the novice and intermediate kata open group.

Cameron's day was not finished, and he took second place in points and continuous sparring.

Tom was back on the mat, taking third place also in points and continuous sparring, and there was a third place in points sparring for Abigail Palfrey.

Jadine Procope was the last Dragon to fight, and she had excellent early round victories to make it to both finals, losing both in over-time to take second place in both points and continuous sparring, to show the Dragons' strength in patterns, kata and sparring at European standard.
