RAF to sponsor WRU in three year deal

ON Wednesday, November 23, RAF Careers announced the signing of a three-year sponsorship contract with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU)

Throughout the sponsorship, the RAF will be providing over 15,000 players in junior rugby clubs and district teams with a range of merchandise from tactics boards, rugby balls and team sheets. Teams will also be invited to attend RAF Rugby clinics for team building sessions and specialist coaching.

The end of the season will culminate in a Fair Play Festival in the spring/summer of 2006.

For the launch the RAF held a rugby clinic for one local U12 District team from Vale of Glamorgan, they worked with an RAF PTI (Physical Training Instructor) who is an ex-semi-professional rugby player.

After this they got to watch the Welsh National Squad train and then meet the squad to get signed rugby balls provided by RAF Careers. This all took place at RAF St Athan.

The National Welsh Squad announced their team line up for the game against Australia at the Officers Mess at RAF St Athan prior to meeting the team.
