A SHOPPING trip turned into a dream come true for a ten-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer from Barry.
Palmerston Primary pupil Joseph Cassidy, who also has hydrocephalus, was chauffeured in a limousine to meet the Welsh football team at a training session in the Newport Stadium, and was then driven to Cardiff for a tour of the Millennium Stadium.
And the treat was all down to mum Alyson, who applied to The Dream Team, a charity that exists to make the wishes of sick, disabled and terminally ill children come true.
Alyson discovered the charity when she saw a man with a Dream Team collection tin outside Matalan in Llantrisant.
She wrote to the Essex-based charity a year ago, describing three of Joseph"s wishes, but with a trip to the Millennium Stadium at the top of the list.
But the mum-of-three never expected her son"s wishes to be granted.
"I could not believe it when we found out Joseph had been invited to meet the Welsh team and to visit the Millennium Stadium," said Alyson, aged 40.
"I wrote to them about a year ago and it just came out of the blue. We were so thrilled."
Joseph"s family was also presented with complimentary tickets to watch the Wales versus Azerbaijan game the following week.
Alyson continued: "I don"t know exactly how many wishes are granted, but for Joseph, this was a wonderful dream come true."
